Check out time was noon and they let me stay until 4 p.m. But I have to give you the positive side of this as well. I was on the bottom level which had door outside and then I had worms inside the room. The biggest thing is what you'll see in the attached picture. There was no way to control the temperature in the room in that it was set for cool and believe me it was cold. There was supposed to be a refrigerator but it wasn't delivered until the evening before I was to leave. However I wasn't able to open my room door without kicking it in and bracing my foot against the wall to get back out. They did it for the persons wanting to come to Kansas City to see the solar eclipse totality - that was me. They only get it for simply because they did Rush to open these rooms before they were 100% ready. Marriott KCI is doing just that in the most professional way possible! More Show less most hotels can not afford to close during a reno. The shuttle was on time for both the pickup and the drop off. The food was off he charts and Tommy the bartender was fun and engaging. Also, there were big screens with the Royals game on. There were high tops and traditional tables. There is a bar that runs the length of the room with about 15 stools. I thought it sounded weird but it was really nice. The restaurant is closed as part of the reno but they set up a temporary location in a ballroom. We were on the 6th floor with a view of the "lake" it was very nice. It was not a big deal! The check in was flawless and professional. It made the entrance a little dirty and you had to walk over some cardboard. We did the park and fly and were very nervous about the current reviews regarding the construction.
